Responsive Leadership at Critical Moments
When:
May 21, 2008 |
1pm-2pm est
Description:
In recent years, we have witnessed some very tragic events: 9/11, the Murrah Building, Katrina, and other incidents such as major lay offs, fires, floods and other organizational transitions.
One of the critical “take aways” is that leadership at these times requires different skills than those needed for the strategic, long range, planning of a work organization. Further, people in leadership positions have never received any skill building or training when it comes to directing a group through the trauma, turmoil and transition that often continues well beyond an initial crisis.
We also have learned that it is often the “higher ups” in an organization who do not fully embrace BCP or contingency planning… until after it is too late.
Unfortunately, what is often discovered at these times is that the “C” in titles of “C level” administration (CEO, CFO, CIO, etc) does not take account of “crisis.”
This program is designed for a select group of people in positions of leadership who wish to improve their leadership style and skills. While much of the program will be powerpoint presentation and lecture, a major portion will be interactive sharing of experience.
Learning Objectives:
1) Understand the difference between leadership and management.
2) Know how to present to senior management in order to “get them on board.”
3) Improve your skills as a leader within your organization.
